5X Email Revenue doesn't happen every day!

The Situation

The client was spending a lot of their time managing this email funnel. They wanted to free up time to work on other projects, but still maintain and improve the email side of the marketing strategy. The performance of the flows had been in a steady decline for a number of months and were in need of a refresh. $/recipient was suffering due to a lack of value based email content to engage the subscribers, and the unsubscribe rate was creeping up to 1% (anything over 0.3% is cause for concern).

Our Strategy

After carrying out an initial audit we made some improvements to the existing flows and also added several new flows aimed at increasing customer satisfaction. A/B testing was built into all the flows to start collecting data on what works, and what doesn't.

With an average order value of over $800 it was important to ensure that every customer felt like they were getting vip treatment after they made a purchase. We implemented a post purchase flow that provided details on product aftercare and later offered some cross sell opportunities.

Weekly email campaigns had been the bedrock of the clients email revenue for a long time but the content had gotten stale and was no longer converting subscribers as it once had. We created a 6 month content calendar to push value based emails out to the newsletter list. That plan featured weekly emails providing subscribers with tips on everything from the latest furniture trends to how you can convert your living room into a home office for under $100.

After a year of working together we have generated almost $300k, or 31% of the total revenue from emails. That number keeps climbing to this day and is likely to reach 40% by the end of 2021!
